It is encouraging to see that our actor/character ideas often match those of the board, and it is helpful to learn about a whole slew of actors we weren’t familiar with before.

The age of the actors is a significant issue; trust us that this is something we’ve discussed with George since our earliest conversations (well over two years ago). None of the characters will be radically aged.

The location has not yet been finalized, but we’re getting close. With any luck, George will be giving you an answer to that question before the end of the year, or very early in 2009.

Shooting dates have also not been determined yet. We’re impatient, too, but as you can imagine this is an elaborate production, with large sets to be built, a huge cast to be filled, etc.

For those who would like to send resumes, videos, etc.: we hope to have a casting director in place within the next month. When we do, we’ll let you know his/her name and where materials should be sent.

One last thing: our focus at the moment is on casting the pilot. So we’re only worried about characters who appear in the pilot. Just so you know the pilot parameters, here’s the first line of dialogue:

“We should start back.”

And here’s the last line:

“The things I do for love.”

Sound familiar?

We think you’re going to like it…

D&D

I thought I was excited before, and we all expected that somewhere around about that part would be the end of the pilot, but to actually know that that is going to be THE LAST LINE!
For some reason, that makes it all the more real, and it makes me think that people watching it will really want to see what happens next.
Also, I think it's cool that it implies that a fair bit of the pilot will be spent establishing the characters.

    <lj:music>Madonna - Holiday</lj:music>

So, as mentioned before, Dawn and I are going on holiday to Scotland.
We're taking the ferry from Larne to Cairnryan on Saturday (27th) afternoon and going to make our initial base of operation in Oban, Argyll, where we're staying in a B&B for two nights.
We haven't gotten any concrete plans for that Sunday, but after hereward77's suggestion of Skipness castle, we may head down into Kintyre.
A day trip to Islay was something we'd have liked to do, to visit a few distilleries, but at this juncture, it seems like that might take too much time. Who knows though?

The only other part of the holiday we've planned is at least 3 nights in Edinburgh, from Friday 3rd October. We've booked into this place that looks really nice in West Coates, not too far from the city centre.
So if any of the crew are about, let us know, cos we'd love to meet up :)

Looking at it from here, our general route is likely to be a circle of the country, going up the west coast, through the highlands, probably to Inverness, maybe up to the far north, definitely visiting distilleries in Speyside, and then back down to Edinburgh.
We're not bothering with a time-frame for anything and are just going to play it by ear.

So, a few of you folks made mention of a bit of craic if we did go ahead with this. Well, consider this your notification.
Anybody up for the craic?

I've been using the beta for a few months now and it's much improved over the 2.x releases.
It's faster and more lightweight. It's tailored to be faster with many Big sites.
Gmail positively flies along with it.
There are a few issues with many addons not working for it yet, but that should be sorted by release or soon after, i think.

If you follow the above link and pledge (giving your email addres) and they'll email you on the day Firefox is released (this month) with download links for it. The idea being that as many people as possible download it on release day to set the record for most software downloads in 24 hours.

It was in an old church, which was done as one large open room, the way from the entrance to the seating area was marked by a load of plushies lying on the ground and the audience were all given a bag of marshmallows and sat on cushions right next to the performance.
There were three characters, the middle-class mother and father and their son who had turned into a bear, who they had put into a Zoo and was now coming home to try to live with them.
Makes you think.
:P

Moves over to her and starts to unbutton her pants.
Girl: pushes him harder and says, "No, don't."
Guy: getting aggravated, punches her and tells her to stop "playing hard to get".
Girl: crying, continues to fight.
Guy: punches her harder, pulls her pants off, and holds her down.
Girl: screams as he penetrates her, "NO, please don't do this to me!"
Guy: puts his hand over her mouth.

An hour passes.........
Guy: pulls back and wipes himself off.
Girl: sits on the corner of the seat, sobbing.
Guy: looks at her and says, "You better not tell anybody about this. If you're really my friend, you won't tell anybody about this. You know I love you." He reaches out his hand to touch her cheek.
Girl: pulls back, "Just take me home, now."
Guy: says, "Alright." Gets in the front seat and drives her home.

2 months later.........
Girl: "Doctor, what's wrong with me. I haven't had my time of the month in 2 months."
Doctor: looks at her, "You haven't been having your "time" for a reason."
Girl: looks at him and says, "Why?" dreading the answer that she was sure to receive.
Doctor: "You are pregnant."
Girl: faints.

The story gets out that she is pregnant, and people start looking to the Guy. He claims that it isn't his because she was sleeping with every guy in the school(which was a lie). He goes to her and tells her, "I'm telling you, if you lie to people and say that I raped you, I'll kill you."

The Girl is completely devastated. First, he took her virginity and got her pregnant....then he lied about it. So completely depressed......the girl commits suicide by drug overdose.......

Girls, if this story touched you, repost it as "That's Fucked up"
Guys, if this story touched you, repost it as "I'll kill any fucker who does this to my girl or any girl"

Admittedly, most of the people on bebo are teenagers, but shite like this goes around all the time on that site. I guess this is what the chain mail has evolved into.
I want to know who the hell wrote this tripe and why the fuck did they do it?
And is it just me that is a bit weirded out by this and finds it rather distasteful or is it just teenagers being fucked up as normal?
<lj:music>PJ Harvey - This Mess We're In (with thom yorke)</lj:music>

Man, I'm useless at posting on this thing, I hope to write a quick post on my exploits at LA soon (before I forget it all) and also tell you about my weekend at Electric Picnic, but in the mean time, I just saw this and I had to post it. I know that several of you will appreciate it :)

Cartoon secret agent Dangermouse is returning to television after the BBC bought episodes of the series to broadcast in its daytime schedules.
This month marks the 25th anniversary of the character and his bumbling sidekick Penfold, who joined forces to defeat evil Baron Greenback in 1981.
Last year the show was third in Channel 4's poll of the best children's TV.
The show has been seen in more than 80 countries, according to Fremantle Media, which owns distribution rights.
The secret of the programme's success was the bizarre scenarios in which the pair found themselves, said Mark Hall, co-founder of production company Cosgrove Hall, which produced the show for Thames TV.
"The adults watched because of that kind of anarchy," he told the BBC earlier this year.

"The kids watched it because they just loved the stories and the absolutely stupid gags."

He also praised the actors who had voiced the characters. Sir David Jason was "fantastic" as Dangermouse, he said, while the late Terry Scott provided a "wonderful" Penfold.
"Dangermouse was a sort of cross between Bond and all sorts of things," Mr Hall said.
"He was supposed to be suave but he was a mouse with big ears."
The cartoon was first aired on ITV in the UK and attracted an average audience of 3.5 million, Fremantle Media said.
No transmission date has yet been set for the re-runs on the BBC.

Man, I loved this show so much. I recently bought a whole load of episodes of it on DVD, but I haven't gotten to watch them. I'm really glad to think that a new generation of kids will get to see this classic :)

Ok, I've just discovered that I made Council Member earlier on today (with a post about David Beckham, no less).
So I'm now entertaining suggestions for what my custom title should be (or at least, my first one)
Mr. Nice Guy?
Rockstar Wookiee?
Bard of the BwB? (although, I'm more than a bit shit at one rather important part of being a bard. The writing.
Sex God? (though, while apt, this one's a touch too arrogant, and just not really me) :P

Please. Help a bro in need. All suggestions welcome, serious or frivolous (actually, especially frivolous ;)

I went for the plain and simple route, but for completeness' sake, here it is:
